remotion-dev/skills: test run, 2026-10-11
The same brief for every skill: a 15-second promo for a made-up app, five fixed lines of on-screen copy, 1920 x 1080 at 30 frames per second. Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) made it with the skill in a throwaway sandbox with no API keys for video, image or voice models. 4.5 minutes; sound: no. All results · The brief · How it is checked
Remotion's own skills: a solid film in 4.5 minutes, no sound.

How it was made (the session's closing message)
I made the 15-second Tidepool promo with the installed Remotion skill and rendered it to `~/work/output/video.mp4`. ffprobe confirms H.264, 1920×1080, 30 fps and exactly 15.0 seconds. I looked at stills from all five scenes, and every line of copy is on screen, readable and in the brief's order. The video has five scenes: | Time (approx.) | On-screen copy | What's on screen | |---|---|---| | 0–2.7s | Know before you swim. | Deep-water gradient with slow rolling waves | | 2.7–6s | Water quality at 2,400 beaches, checked every morning. | A field of dots lighting up in a sweep, with a sunrise glow | | 6–8.7s | Good. Fair. Stay out. | Green, amber and red pills popping in one after another | | 8.7–11.7s | Rain warnings tell you how long to wait. | Falling rain and a raindrop inside a countdown ring that empties | | 11.7–15s | Tidepool. Check my beach. | "Tidepool." in large type with a "Check my beach." button that gets a small tap | - **Copy:** the only text in the video is the brief's copy, word for word. There are no logos, and the timer ring has no numbers on it. - **Sound:** the video is silent, since the brief made audio optional. - **Font:** the typeface is Outfit, which is downloaded from Google Fonts when the video renders. Re-rendering from `~/work/project` needs internet access. The project is in `~/work/project`: the full video is the `Promo` composition, and each scene is also registered on its own.
