vincentsch/explainroo: test run, 2026-10-11
The same brief for every skill: a 15-second promo for a made-up app, five fixed lines of on-screen copy, 1920 x 1080 at 30 frames per second. Claude Code (Claude Opus 5.5) made it with the skill in a throwaway sandbox with no API keys for video, image or voice models. 2.0 minutes; sound: yes. All results · The brief · How it is checked
The fastest: a finished film with sound in 2 minutes.

How it was made (the session's closing message)
I made the video with explainroo, the skill installed from ~/src. It is 15.0 seconds long, H.264 at 1920 × 1080 and 30 fps, which I confirmed with ffprobe. - **Copy:** each of the five lines from the brief gets its own scene, in order and word for word, with nothing else written on screen. Each line is fully visible for about 2 to 3 seconds. - **Look:** the scenes share a light sea-green background with animated waves along the bottom. The pictures are simple icons: map pins and a sunrise for the beaches line, green, amber and red cards for "Good. Fair. Stay out.", and a rain cloud with a countdown ring for the rain line. The last scene shows "Tidepool." with "Check my beach." on a button. - **Sound:** there is no voice-over. The music is made in code by explainroo, with a few soft sound effects. - **Changes from explainroo's defaults:** I turned off its "explainroo.com" watermark and its captions, because the brief rules out any extra text. explainroo's `check` found no problems. `verify` measured the loudness at −13.8 LUFS and did not report black frames or silence. It also printed "narration understood: 100%", which means nothing here because the video has no narration. I looked at still frames from every scene, including one taken from the finished file, but I can't watch the motion itself or hear the music, so those are unchecked. The project I rendered from is in ~/work/project. DELIVERABLE: ~/work/output/video.mp4
